Although this is a typical alien defense movie, the deeper is meaning to this movie that the unknowing critic would not see. This movie is about the how soldiers from all countries can come together for a common good. The acting and action may have been a bit campy, but the premise and heart that the actors put into this movie stays true. Defend at all costs. Bring back all that you can, all soldiers understand this. Look past the movie to the premise and you will understand what a soldier deals with in a combat situation.

The film splits its time evenly between half-heartedly pretending it's an allegory for our current war on terror and pretending that it's not.

I don't write too many reviews but felt the need to with this movie. the movie isn't a 5 star movie but with all the low reviews I felt the need to rate it higher to raise its overall rating. I would put this at a 3.5 maybe 4. if this was a big budget film with big name actors and cgi it would be one of the best alien flicks in a long time. right up their with district 9 and Prometheus. but you can't fault a movie bc of its production cost. the story was good, the special effects were good, and finally we have a documentary type movie that doesn't involve a camera jerking all over the place. this movie is worth your time. I believe it is a rare under rated sci-fi gem!

Had a real military feel to it....the special affects on the aliens was pretty cool too.
