Once again, Egoyan has created a film that descends from ideas rather than experience, driven by theme rather than character, and he does both very well.

An interesting story with themes of alienation and religion. Not the best film i've ever seen but i've certainly sat through worse.

Maravilhoso filme de Atom Egoyan, complexo e que escapa de qualquer espécie de obviedade. Um menino escreve uma redação fictícia sobre supostamente possuir um pai terrorista, e todos acabam acreditando. Mas não dá pra resumir o filme a isso, ele traz questões tão profundas. O preconceito ao homem muçulmano, a própria jornada do menino tentando descobrir a verdade sobre seu passado. Enfim, ótimo filme.

Although the intent is clearly to keep us off balance as to what's real, it also unbalances the movie, hampering its ability to build suspense or involve us in its characters.
