A film rich in culture and true to America today. I enjoyed its humor and drama as it reveled itself in colorful layers within the four American families celebrating Thanksgiving. It is full of issues that face society, approached in a real way through tradition and family. I enjoyed the awkward moments and found myself laughing quite a bit. The only problem was that it made me hungry. Recommended on a full stomach.

Goes overboard in its presentation of supposed reality.

Her (Chadha) film tastily demonstrates that variety is the spice of not only American life, but of American cuisine.

My favourite part of the movie was when that big fluffy microphone dipped into view and no-one noticed. That really rather says it all.

Despite some grace- ful performances, especially from Ruehl and Kazan, the result is a tepid repast at best.
