The professor takes him to Paris, where he eventually comes under the wing and influence of novelist George Sand and rises to prominence in the music world, to the exclusion of his old friends and patriotic feelings towards Poland.

Cornel Wilde turns in a surprisingly good performance with Merle Oberon especially attractive. Glorious production rich in color and design. Paul Muni's performance is endearing. A great deal to enjoy.

Haven't seen many movies about composers, and being into classical music because I play the piano, it was a very interesting movie for me. Of course some of it is inaccurate, but this is not a biopic- it is a dramatic story based around Chopin.

"A Song to Remember" is supposed to be the life of Chopin but in fact, very little in it is historically accurate. It's still a beautiful, emotional, and sumptuous movie, filled with the heavenly music of Chopin.

People have to appreciate the movie from a pure entertaining angle. Facts about Chopin are somewhat inaccurate - anything from Chopin's personality to historical backgrounds are off - but it is the music and the patriotic spirit make the file memorable. :)

In the movie A song to Remember we have a movie focusing on the composer Frederic Chopin and his struggles to balance his loves between music, George Sand, his teacher and his country. The movie features several moments where the historical accuracy is somewhat questionable, but aside from that music is great and the movie won't disappoint fans of the composer.
