A Price Above Rubies would have more impact if filmmaker Boaz Yakin didn't allow its energy level to sag in several scenes, and if he avoided some lapses into Hollywood-style sensationalism.

It was good (I just don't really like abrupt endings). A good portrayal of someone not seeing eye to eye with their religion and trying to discover herself.

Yakin's argument is presented with such blind rage and fury that his little film goes from sensitive and perceptive to sensational and scandal-mongering very quickly

i was impressed to see renee zellweger in a film like this. a little overly dramatic, but watchable.
