A touching, epic movie about 71 high school soldiers that fought the North Korean Army to defend their freedom. Great acting performances from everyone involved. I was surprised by the superb performance from the lead, T.O.P. (from Big Bang). This goes into my top 5 for war movies, and I highly recommend it. Obviously, watch it with subtitles. The impact of this movie is almost tripled if you are Korean, but it is great with subtitles nonetheless.

I hate war films and i never really get the story, however the plot was very clear, most of the characters were great and the war scenes were also pretty good. I quite enjoyed it

The North Korean troops were marching through the south all the way toward Pusan. While the South Koreans and the Allied troops were fighting on the front lines, 71 student soldiers were left at an abandoned girls' middle school to wait. When the North Koreans change tactics and go toward the school instead, the kids are left to fend for themselves, for their country. Really powerful film, which most war movies are, but this unknown story to most of the world is great. Incredible war scenes, even some comedy with the interaction with the students, and eventually at the end, some interviews with the survivors. Recommended highly.

LOVED this movie. One of the best war films I've seen.
