As storytelling, 5 Flights Up is remarkably clumsy: the narrative strands never knit together, the well-intentioned messages are awkwardly spelt out, and the stakes remain low. That said, it's an easy film to watch.

This is a very good example of real life. Having just gone through the same experience, my husband of 47 years and myself were able to see our experience on the screen. The acting is all that you would expect of these two incredible Actors. This is reality, that many are and all will face at some point in time. We loved it.

This was a film about nothing really besides a couple trying to sell a house. It reeked of a stage play and seemed to have something to say about a relationship between a white woman and a black man which it did unconvincely through flashbacks. Keaton was lovely as was Freeman bit Nixon over acted her socks off

Interracial retiree couple of Alex (Morgan Freeman) and Ruth (Diane Keaton) Carver deciding to sell apartment after staying there for 40 years. And at the same time looking for a new complex division that has an elevator and not just a stairs. With a terrorism scare on the news used as a backdrop.

This movie had good and bad parts; but I still enjoyed. The good parts outweigh the bad, so it deserves four stars.
