very gritty. each character has extremely strong presence. displays irish angst very well

One of my all-time favorites. Sean Penn, Robin Wright and Ed Harris are all terrific, but this is absolutely Gary Oldman's film. He is bloody brilliant in this. The most undervalued film of the nineties.
