Of the Busbey Berkeley musicals this one may have the most depth. Underneath all the fun and games, songs and dances there is the show's producer dying from an unspecified illness but he still has to produce this show because he has no money. He doesn't actually die at the end but the last few shots imply that he will soon.

A classic musical, and probably one of the first film musicals. There are great musical numbers, great characters, and of course fantastic choreography.

this is my favorite film musical. it is the blueprint for almost any musical or film about dancers out there. i love the salty dialogue, the grimy backstage feel, the tough hard faced chorines and the flashy dance direction of busby berkeley.

This is one of the ultimate backstage musicals. The sweeping camera angles, the magnificent music numbers, and the dancing make this film a trendsetter for musicals.
