"13 Assassins" is amazingly well-designed and is effective at immersing you into a period where the samurai were falling apart. The film is also devilishly clever, going so far as to imply that one of the characters may be a mythological being relevant to Japanese mythology. The last thirty minutes of the film consists of one of the most brutal and emotionally draining war scenes you'll ever lay eyes on.

A true Action Epic! Director Takashi Miike makes one of the most jaw dropping spectacles in Japanese cinematic history.

A must own. If you are a fan of the genre, you will most certainly be a fan of this film.
