July of 1916 was a time of record heat, a polio epidemic, and a World War in Europe. But beachgoers in New Jersey are threatened by a even greater terror: a shark that has suddenly developed a taste for human flesh. Starting July 1st and lasting over a period of 12 days, the unidentified shark kills four people and seriously injures a fifth before the attacks stop, and threatens New Jersey's thriving tourist industry. Based on true events, and one of the inspirations behind Peter Benchley's Jaws.

fkn superb all about the shark that ete six people in 1916 over 12 days a fkn good film

I usually like movies that are based on true facts but this one was too boring and it looked cheap, it was too "hallmark". I rented this movie but I believe it was made for tv because of the way it's edited. Bad everything, bad acting, bad "special effects", baqd dialogue, with this tory they could have done so much more

Was definitely looking for more of a horror aspect to this early 1900's period piece. Instead we get a poorly acted TV drama (probably made for Shark Week) with weak characterizations and a disgusting lack of effects, unless you consider bloody water to be one. Boring, especially for a shark attack movie.

So...I just watched a movie called 12 Days of Terror, and was expecting it to be what one might expect from a made for TV movie, with a not-so-great-as-an-actor-but-dead-ringer-for-Tom-Cruise lead and the one slightly famous actor, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The movie is based on the actual events of the New Jersey shark attacks of 1916, and of coarse as most movies will do, took some liberties with the historical accuracy, but none the less, I was much delighted by the film. Even as far as shark thriller type movies go, I would have to rate this among the best that I have seen, Even with a limited special effects aspect, the movie still was able to maintain a suspense aspect almost as good as Jaws itself. So if you have Netflix, and you enjoy a food shark thriller, I strongly suggest 12 Days of Terror.

This is an excellent B shark movie, about 1916 shark attacks along New Jersey Coast. Only fault of the movie, it was filmed in South Africa, no where along Jersey Caost does it look like scenes in the film, but still an interesting story. 4 Stars
