Why did I like it? Was it because it is supposedly the best performance of McGregor since Trainspotting or because he, as it said on the DVD's cover, played a drifting sexmaniac? both true. whatever the reason, it's worth watching.

You would think a film with sexual intercourse every 10 minutes would be more uplifting than this distressing film. It's very depressing and bleak, but it is very well acted, especially Ewan McGregor. It's a well crafted film and well made, just quite a downer. It gives a new meaning to the words "food fight" as well...

I very much so enjoyed this movie. It was full of suspense and eroticism. Ewan McGregor and Tilda Swinton were excellent as two passionate lovers who needed and longed for each other all day on the barge. Normally I wouldn't watch a movie like this, given the rating and that it probably meant that a lot of sexual content, but it was all worth it to see beyond credible acting. Give this film a shot and you just might like it. I adore it actually for how bad these people are.

Silent masterpiece. My father once told me of a girl from Spain that loved him profusely when she couldn't speak a word of English. Joe mastered the art of saying a thousand words with a single look, and McGregor fit like a glove. His tight performance and wealth of subtleties carries the silence and fills it with fever. While I am still wondering who "Adam" is, and still praying for a different ending, i am still standing behind this movie 100%. Just make sure you leave the kids at home.
