Wood Job! (2014)

After failing his university entrance exam, Yuki Hirano sets his eyes on the role of a forestry trainee. Setting off for training he doubts his decision many times, but eventually after passing the training course, he is sent to Kamusari Village for a year of work experience - where he becomes assimilated with the beauty of nature and the warm-hearted people of the village.

Maybe a little slow to get going, but well worth the time invested. Great family film with a few laughs to boot.

It's been a while I haven't changed my Top 10 movies. Mostly because I haven't seen much that I found incredibly special as all my other favs. This movie entered so quickly, I didn't even hesitate. Innocent and really unique story with a nice message about sustainability and family values. The locale is astonishing with doesn't hurt. Strongly recommend.

Surprisingly Good! Whatta journey! This film was well-balanced with its humor, character development and pacing. It's refreshing to see contemporary jfilms shot in a rural village and it has depth towards the passion and love for forestry. Its disgusting yet funny. This film also tackles about being a real mountain man and the beliefs and traditions in the mountains. I was quite surprised to see with the involvement of paranormal entity on one scene of this film. And I really saw Shota Sometani's booty so many times in this film afff. If you're a fan of him, this film is you should be watching next.

Saw it at the Japan film festival. Very funny and heart touching. Highly recommended.
