Wolf Totem doesn’t feel so much like fully formed narrative film as it does a trumped up National Geographic special on Inner Mongolia eager to make use of shiny new IMAX cameras.

Les personnages du film sont pratiquement secondaire tant le film est axé sur les magnifiques décors et les loups, malheureusement la trame narrative est un peu sacrifiée en retour

Too much digital effects, but, anyway, Annaud creates again a wonderful combination of good human story and nature.

Beautifully crafted, as expected from a film by Jean-Jacques Annaud, but a tad too long. Visually stunning, and raising familiar issues of traditional vs. modern way of life; And modern human expansion at the expense of nature. Stunning cinematography and I liked Feng Shaofeng in the lead.
