West does an earnest job, but that's the problem: He never conjures Crash's psychotic danger. Neither does this eager, flawed, scrappy biopic.

In sure hands, What We Do Is Secret could have been a fine rock'n'roll biopic.

I was dying to see this movie for years now...I have to say, it was nothing uber-special (nothing like the Germs in person--go to a show!). However, I really appreciated how the film made a mythical punk rock icon into a very human boy. If the filmmakers hadn't gone that route, it would have made for a very UNcompelling flick.

Incouraged me to look into The Germs music and history. I felt it was a really good punk rock movie and seemed to stay true to the band and the time.
