Two military men, Captain Flagg and Sergeant Quirt, who are rivals to begin with, grow more at odds with each other when Quirt is made Flagg's top sergeant. And when a local beauty comes between them, their rivalry escalates even further. But when they discover that the woman has marriage in mind, they now compete to try to avoid marching down the aisle - that is, until they are called upon to march into battle.

Pretty good movie...part buddy film / part war movie. I think they overplayed the buddy part of the movie though as it went on for too long. I liked James Cagney, but didn't like Dan Dailey too much.

A not bad war flick, if you like goofy rivalry movies. A bit meh.

Fair John Ford war movie, some of the art direction is excellent, but there is really nothing special about the film. James Cagney is good as always, but he isn?t very memorable, nor is the film. It lacks period detail and has an abominably poor performance from Robert Wagner. Good score though.

One of John Ford's lesser outings, but still great entertainment with some incredibly beautiful scenes that only Ford was capable of shooting.
