What a wonderful film. Excellent performances have always been a hallmark of Benegal's cast and this is no exception. Wonderfully written, the movie is in the genre of almost lost middle-of-the-road lighter cinema of Hrishikesh M, Basu C and Sai P. Thanks Mr. Benegal for proving that Zubeida was just an odd mistake.

a nice and simple movie. But one does not know whether this is a comedy or a satire. I guess Shyam Benegal tried to touch too many subjects within the short time. Ila Arun was great.

Its a good satire that has some laughs and addresses serious social issues, but overall the film fails to become great due to a slow paced script, amateur performance from Shreyas Talpade, Shyam Benegal not going the distance and truly unwanted Songs that have been forced in.

Surprisingly it turned out to be quite surreal and charming in its own way. Quite contradictory to its promos. It depicts rural issues in a subtle way along with its main characters' own turmoil.
