Neither shocking nor illuminating, Welcome to New York comes off merely as hero worship of a terrible man who revels in his abuses of power.

Shallow, turgid and not particularly illuminating. Whatever DSK is really like, I assume he can do more than just grunt a lot and talk about sex and food. Would rather see this as an investigative documentary

The only thing bigger than Depardieu is his thinly veiled first class performance as Dominique Strauss Khan. Be warned some scenes would put you in mind of Lucian Freud's paintings of Leigh Bowery:) Easily Abel Ferrara's best film since Bad Lieutenant.
