Possibly the greatest comic book adaptation that's ever been made.

"Fresh off his major slow motion success with '300' Mr Snyder undertook this dark epic comicbook adaptation. The comics are set within an alternative history (1985) where Nixon is the President and has his hands full with the Cold War against the Soviet Union.

This is a review of the ultimate cut: Watchmen is everything I love in a comic book film, gorgeous visuals, gritty violence, a sharp narrative and complex characters. Watchmen had it all and kept me hooked until the credits rolled with its rock solid ending.

A rare film that perfectly captures the comic book in nearly every single detail from where it was adapted. Synder takes audiences on a visual thrill ride that questions what it means to be a superhero in times of war and peace. Based on the best selling and best reviewed graphic novel of all time, Watchmen is a monumental achievement that properly manages to capture the spirit of its source material. Although it is finally understood what Alan Moore has said about Watchmen being made solely for the comic book medium, you can't help but marvel at the films wonder.
