Another descendant of Stacy Peralta's influential Dogtown and Z-Boys, but more stylish and engaging than most of its less inquisitive, like-minded, hagiographic stunt spectaculars.

Unfortunately, as the extensive footage of kick flips, fakies, and grinders goes from thrilling to routine, we're left waiting - and wanting - for Rosenberg to offer something more substantial than another "big air."

Director Jacob Rosenberg makes heavy use of family photos and talking heads, but the person we want most to hear from, Way himself, is largely missing. Go figure.

It is a movie about a skateboard growing up and becoming the person he has become. It is not a skateboarding movie, it is a truly inspiring and relatable story to anyone who is faced with growing up especially when there is a complicated past underneath. It is the complicated past that that makes Danny's story so inspiring saying how anything is possible to achieve success when following your passions.
