Beautifully photographed and acted tale of a young Saudi girl who dreams of riding a bike. A hopeful and .rare cinematic look at a previously closed part of the world. Wonderful performances from Waad Mohammed as the title character and Reem Abdullah as her mother.

Brilliant storytelling, cinematography and acting. Director Haifaa Al-Mansour offers an outstanding master class in filmmaking, which is at the same time an essential lesson of democracy and equality between genders.

Haifaa Al-Mansour deserves a standing ovation for the sincere and brave attempt to depict the reality. It feels more like ground-breaking documentary rather than a movie, but you will definitely feel for the character "Wadjda" for just being the character what it really is. The movie makes you realize that there is not just one, but many Wadjdas in not just one, but many countries.
