Vulgar (2002)

Vulgar is about a man who is a children's clown but has not been getting much luck lately. He lives in a cheap apartment which he can't even afford. One day he comes up with the idea to become a bachelor clown.

"Vulgar" is as far away from "Jay and Silent Bob" as you could possibly imagine, so if you are going to watch the film, try and forget there was ever a Jay, a Bob, a Dante, a Holden, a Banky and a woman named Amy, and you might get something a little more

I actually really enjoyed this flick. It's nowhere near as miserable and depressing as everybody makes it out to be. Ok, the main plot point of the assault by the 2 brothers and their f*cked up father was very disturbing, but without giving anything away, it ended on a real high note, and afterwards I felt somewhat uplifted. It was good to see the usual Kevin Smith regulars (Mewes, Flanagan, Johnson & Mosier) and there's a ton of easter eggs hidden in the flick for View Askew fans. Will probably buy this.

What a fucked up film. It starts out as a really low-budget indie comedy, turns into a Hostel-quality horror-show as the clown is gangraped by a psychotic family, and then deals with the aftermath and tries to seg back into low-budget comedy. It's good and definitely worth a watch, but fucked up.
