Versus (2000)

Set in the present where a group of ruthless gangsters, an unknown woman and an escaped convict have met, unwittingly, in The Forest of Resurrection, the 444th portal to the other side. Their troubles start when those once killed and buried in the forest come back from the dead, with the assistance of the evil Sprit that has also come back, come back from ages past, to claim his prize. The final standoff between Light and Dark has never been so cunning, so brutal and so deadly. This is where old Japanese Samurai mysticism meets the new world of the gangster and the gun. Gruesome, bloody and positively bold.

Samurai swords, zombies and Yakuza. Surely this is the perfect film :D Kinda like Evil Dead meets Highlander, great action and very cool visuals.

now officially my favorite martial arts movie. the acting is good, for a really low budget, and the stunts are phenominal.... and it has zombies, which earns props in my book.

Zombies, samurai, and zombie samurai, BADDASS. Seriously, who cares about the story, gratuitous violence and the man in the green suit provide all the entertainment necessary. A great drinking game would be to take a shot every time someone spews blood out of their mouth.

if you want to see the best new school zombie samurai yakuza film you have to see this film. One of the best sound editing jobs I have ever seen as well.
