Andy Taggert set out for Hollywood to pursue acting, but years later finds himself working in adult films. Disillusioned and trapped, Andy walks off the set and lands himself in a mental hospital. His estranged parents pick him up and take him to their Arizona retirement community where Andy's troubles seemingly all but disappear until his past unexpectedly comes back to haunt him.

I like it, it's a decent detour from the usual Rom Com except for the wrap up toward the end. I thought the first half was great- to me there are very few movies that can take deadpan and do it right without overdoing it. There are quite a few people who watched this who didn't catch on to it judging from the reviews (I have to remind myself that not everyone shares my sense of humor). I was increasingly disappointed when the closer to the end it got the more mainstream Rom Com cliche it became but it pleases the masses so that's the direction it went.

"It's a Wonderful Life" meets "La Cage aux Folles" in Arizona. Very funny and very sweet, with some great allusions to other films. Very good acting all around. The perfect feel-good movie when you're stuck at home sick. Spoiler Alert: awesome little dance scene.

Glad to see veteran actors getting a paycheck. Too bad that Vic/Andy lost his big package from the opening pool scene in every scene thereafter.
