Unlawful Entry (1992)

Happily married Michael and Karen Carr call the police after Karen is held at knife point during a failed robbery attempt in their home. Before long, one of the responding officers, Officer Pete Davis, helps arrange the installation of a new security system, taking extra interest in the couple's case. As a result, the grateful Carrs invite him to stay for dinner and they strike up an unexpected friendship. However, as the lonely policeman develops an intense fixation on Karen, his take on friendship develops into a dangerous obsession soon becoming the Carrs' worst nightmare.

Got this DVD for xmas one year. Had never herd of it. Watched it for the first time last week. Very good movie.

In Unlawful Entry Kurt Russell and Madeline Stowe play a married couple living in an Upscale flat in LA when one night they are awakened by a break in. Two cops come to their assistance and one of them- Liotta, playing a deranged cop befriends the couple, to another level- even taking Russell out for a night out, simply because he becomes infatuated with Russell's wife. Liotta is suitably creepy and carries the film on his shoulders. Russell and Stowe are adequate and aren't allowed to do much except go with the proceedings. A good one-time watch. ( Great crazy cop movie with a crazy turn by Liotta).

When I first watched this film, I could not help but marvel at how brilliant Ray Liotta was at his role. Even though Kurt Russell and Madeleine Stowe both gave very good performances, it is Ray Liotta that stands out the most. I found that the transition that Liotta made between playing a nice guy to an obsessed and jealous psycho was absolutely outstanding.I believe he deserved an award for his exceptional performance. Not many actors could pull off a performance like Liotta did. Overall I felt that this film was a well thought out thriller, and was well cast. It definitely deserves the credit it gets. I would thoroughly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good thriller.

scary, edge of your seat thriller. Never fails to freak me out everytime I watch it. I still can't watch it alone!!
