I think it's treated as a sequel to the first movie. It's no longer a high-action, explosive, fun romp. This one is far more gritty and realistic than any other in the series. The second tier soldiers are all actual MMA fighters so, you can see how that plays out. Dolph is only in the movie for 5 minutes but he brings in the self-aware drama that Roy Batty had in Blade Runner. I wish they expanded on that much more, oh well. There's a long lead up to the major action and there's no big score, which is probably why the movie wasn't tossed into theaters. If you like the first movie, then you should see this.

Bad. Ass. Way better than it has any right to be. I love the tone and brutality of the movie. It really makes the UniSols seem unstoppable and terrifying. Fight scenes are well-shot and numerous, and the soundtrack is dry and atmospheric. Very good.

I've heard some good things about this movie, but I didn't really believe it. Turns out this movie was actually good. A simple story, but executed very well. Did anyone know this was suppose to be a "B movie"? There was actually time and effort put into the stunts and camera work. There's a couple of one minute steady-cam sequences that really impressed me, especially one that followed Jean-Claude while he went room to room killing other soldiers. A decent rental.

Van Damme is great in this movie, His best one in 10years. I enjoyed the action and story.

This movie kicks ass. I went in not expecting much-but came away totally impressed. The action is bad ass. One scene in particular sticks out in my mind above all others. All I'll say is that Van Damme plus combat knife is a recipe for one of the most bad ass three minutes in an action film. The story is good, the characters are good. See this movie. It's action films like these that give the genre balls.
