Amazing at what focusing on a good story will do. I mean it's not the best movie ever but it's certainly the best in the series after the first one. Pretty good action, kind of subtle actually. It doesn't try to ram the action down your throat. Van Damme and Lundgren look a bit long in the tooth, but the film is enjoyable.

This movie is for the action movie fan of yesteryear. I'm talking about the 80's & 90's. This movie won't appeal to everyone but what needs to be said is that this movie has great action scenes and not just the shootouts but the fight scenes. They are not 80's/90's ridiculous, just simple straightforward and brutal. The knife use is excellent. 3think

pretty fucking cool to see van damme back, even after jcvd which proves this man can act, he is still awesome doing action flicks, just sad that other movies make it to theaters and none of his not yet, sad, cause there are movies out in theaters that completely suck, really suck and I think a lot of people will agree, I think he needs another chance in theaters, hopefully eagle path will make it.

â??Regenerationâ?? is rough and ready, moving swiftly from skirmish to skirmish, with Van Damme released in the final act to show the kids what a real action star looks like (slightly wrinkly and dour, but eager to distribute some wall-smashing beatings). The picture retains surprising value, making it a welcome blood-spattered raft of quality floating in a sea of horrendous DTV product. â??Regenerationâ?? is moody, pleasingly quick-draw, and knows when to quit, making the â??Universal Soldierâ?? brand name bizarrely vital once again.

Nach den jÃ¼ngsten GroÃ?taten von sowohl Van Damme als auch Lundgren war ein gutes Sequel zu erwarten - jedenfalls ein besseres als das von 1999. Dass es derart brillant werden wÃ¼rde, dann aber vielleicht doch nicht. Hyams inszeniert atemlos, dÃ¼ster, todernst, und in Lichtsetzung und Sounddesign gar an einen lyrischen Avantgardismus grenzend. So bleibt UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: REGENERATION nicht nur in intellektueller Hinsicht keinen Deut hinter Emmerichs Vorlage zurÃ¼ck - er kann ihr gar noch die Poesie hinzufÃ¼gen, die beim Pragmatiker Emmerich stets fehlt.
