It was a great movie. It was happy ending when the boy saw his mot her again. I saw it on Mother's Day, Sunday May 10th, 2009 on Univision with Spanish subtitles for when ppl were speaking English....

Here is another Spanish movie that tells a realistic, moving story, but without graphic sex or violence. This is a tear jerker about a resourceful little man who risks everything to get back to his mother, across the US/Mexico border. Although the dangers Carlito faces are real, the movie is suitable for the whole family to watch. The self-sacrificing adults who help Carlito along his journey are also refreshing. A great, uplifting movie!

I saw this film during a plane trip and it was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Although I can't help but be a little vexed at the implicit feeling that the borders to the US should be wide open, it was a great movie with an incredible set of acting performances. The plot was a little far fetched, of course, but the story was good and believable.

Great film. Just a a down to Earth story about that sacrifices people make for their loved ones. Everyone can relate.
