Far from an anti-war film, Two Men is more in line with In Which We Serve (1942) than Oh! What a Lovely War (1969).

i didnt think i'd like it its about two dentists who want to help with hte war. its funnier than a lot of the british movies and its funny becaues its not obvious. its way better than i thought it would be.

The middle sections go a bit slack at times, and things wrap up a little too neat and quickly, but overall Two Men Went to War entertains and recalls the type of British period comedy that more regularly appeared here before everything seemingly began to strive for "Full Monty"-sized box-office returns.

Great film for a quiet night in. The film isn't exactly fast-paced, but that's part of its charm. I was a little bit worried about it being a comedy since it was based on real events, and I was afraid it might get a bit too slapstick, but the writers were really sensitive to the characters and made them really believable and lovable. It's billed as a comedy, but it's deeper than that. There's a lot of emotions involved, and all in all, it's a really good 'feel-good' saturday night film if you want something a bit light and warm.

This is just a fantastic film! Very funny and based on a true story. Parts filmed in Godalming!
