Troll (1986)

When a family moves into a San Francisco apartment, an opportunistic troll decides to make his move and take possession of little Wendy, thereby paving the way for new troll recruits, the first in his army that will take eventual control of the planet. We soon discover Torok is the ex-husband of Eunice St. Clair, a resident in the building who was married to Torok.

I'm surprised to see such low ratings for this one! This film is what it is, a cult classic that deserves to be regarded for it's willingness to be what it is with no apologies. The effects involving various puppets, etc. are not groundbreaking, but for a 1986 B-movie, they get the job done quite well, and the cast couldn't be more perfect. If you've missed this little gem, do yourself a favor and check it out.

This movie features-and I'm not kidding here-an impressive cast list including Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Noah Hathaway, you know the hero from the Never Ending Story, June Lockhart, the mom from The Adventures of Timmy and Lassie and last but not least Sonny Bono. Now with a cast like that how could you go wrong. Well, I'll tell you. First you add trolls, hence the title of the film. Then you add a little girl who has an obsession with something called a rat burger. But actually she is posessed by the troll who has an obsession with rat burgers. Now, have the little girl run around screaming rat burgers to all of the tenants in her apartment and someone close to you will puke from laughing too hard, like my roommate did. I don't know if the laughter was the directors original intention, but it worked on one Scott Patrick Holmes. Brilliant bad film.

Troll 1:This movie was awesome... although i havent watched it in like 8 years im still sure its wicked. And the burgers they were eating looked so good too.
