I need to learn the lesson that the smart choice is to go home if I arrive at the theater too late to see the movie I had planned on. But, seeing how I love old monster movies, I figured "How bad can it be?" Well, it was pretty bad. The humor is more stupidly offensive than funny, the acting universally weak--especially when it comes to the comedic timing of the cast--and the story features characters that do nothing except serve the purpose of a single joke and otherwise just clutter up the film and story. It's too bad, becuase in the hands of competent writers and with some better actors, this could have been a really funny movie with roots in classic films from Universal and Full Moon. The vampire/college student look-alike and the midget mad scientist had all sorts of potential, potential that we can see shining through at the films best moments, but which remains tragicaly unspent or even wasted. Skip this one. It's better than garbage like "Disaster Movie," but it's still not worth your time or money.

Okay, I know what you're thinking. It's hard to get over how incredibly stupid this movie looks. The thing about this movie is that it's really skillfully made. It's a rather seamlessly crafted farce that totally nails all its laughs. It's just full of tits and vampires in a very schlocky way. The premise of this film is a little bit weak, but I find it kind of funny that it's not the "vampire trying to resurrect his evil loved one" or even the "mad scientist tries to perform head transplant" that I found far-fetched, it was the fact that an idiot manages to convince all his buddies to attend a university in Romania just so he can finally meet his internet sweetheart that I found a little hard to swallow. The elements of the ridiculous in this film are knowingly such, and the writers make them work to thier advantage. In fact, this film's internal logic is really surprisingly strong, and it never breaks any of its rules. I was very impressed and amused by this movie. It's got a really intricate story structure that totally works.

Although the inept filmmaking and tiresome gags give the air of coming from one truly bored misogynist, it took two screenwriters (Patrick Casey, Worm Miller) and two directors (David & Scott Hillenbrand) to create this stake through the heart of film comedy.

This movie took an obvious step back from Dorm Daze 2, to which I guess this is a loose sequel too. The major problem I had with this film is that I found the jokes to be less funny, and when you are seeing a movie to laugh it becomes a big disappointed. I thought the acting was satisfactory and the plot moved at a good pace, and was not nearly as confusing as the original dorm daze so that was much improvement, and there was a funny scene in here or two, for a stupid comedy. However not enough to keep me entertained. Not as much naked girls as there was in the dorm daze 2, which if you are not going to make me laugh at least show me some T & A. Overall I would say watch it if you want, but I personally would skip this one.
