The primitive state of sound film and location shooting mar an otherwise solid jungle adventure. Despite the murky production values and dated melodrama, itâ(TM)s a lively story with some interesting semi-authentic footage of the wilds of Africa. Despite its flaws, an ambitious and influential classic.

This shrewdly fashioned jungle melodrama proved to be thoroughly exciting to the spectators last night and it seemed as though many of them were a bit nearer than they ever wanted to be to a big game hunt.

The picture is a magnificent record of wild life in Central Africa, abounding in thrilling episodes and in scenic splendors.

Film quality was a bit low but overall an excellant example of Africa in the 1930's

An early talkie, great for its time. Filmed in Africa.
