Alex, Marty, and other zoo animals find a way to escape from Madagascar when the penguins reassemble a wrecked airplane. The precariously repaired craft stays airborne just long enough to make it to the African continent. There the New Yorkers encounter members of their own species for the first time. Africa proves to be a wild place, but Alex and company wonder if it is better than their Central Park home.

Better than the first one. One of the rare sequels that are better than the first. This has more heart, more ridiculous and laughable humor, bigger laughs, improved performances of the cast, bigger roles of some characters, and is overall, an improvement of the first one.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa was so ridiculous that it was good. 90% of it was nonstop laughter, but there were some cheesy bits in it. If you're looking for a fun movie to watch, and your in the mood to laugh super hard, this Madagascar sequel is a good choice.

A breathtakingly beautiful movie. I've got to say, Ethan Cohen, Eric Darnell & Tom Mcgrath did a pretty fantastic job writing up this story and displaying it in such an amazing way. Together, they have done a rare thing, where they made a sequel that is actually better than the first...not just slightly. The depth of emotions you begin to feel for these animals was a great surprise, and I wanted more by the time the film ended. Which is why I can't wait to watch the third sequel. So in other words, this movie was nice, enjoyable and fun...perfect for a peaceful afternoon.
