Another great Hitchcock film. I liked how he kept the audience in the dark, along with Julie Andrews' character most of the time. I also felt the chemistry from the two leads was real and so was the suspense - it's not crazy car chases and explosions in this spy thriller - it's a real game of cat and mouse and I felt that worked well.

(***): :up: A good cast and an interesting story kept me entertained even if I felt the film was a tad too long. A good film from Hitch but not one of his best.

I kind of wonder why this Hitchcock film is often overlooked--it has two iconic stars in Newman and Andrews as well as some signature set pieces (the fight at the farm is twisted even to today's standards). My only guesses are: 1. It lacks a scene of genuine "showy" camera work that makes a fellow minor Hitch film like "Frenzy" referenced today. 2.The abandonment of the original Herrmann score for one that I feel is much too light.

i know it's uncool to think highly of this film, but i thought it was sufficiently suspenseful, and i rather enjoyed it. and i'm not ashamed to admit that.
