Plays some intriguingly dark games and exerts an increasingly tight grip, thanks to strong performances, a clever script and Dolan's assured direction.

Tom at the Farm certainly has some flaws that are too big to ignore but in terms of genre filmmaking and acting, it's a decent watch.

More than anything Tom at the Farm is a rippling pool of grief, a dark parable about what it means to accept loss and move on, with the main group of three passing through states of denial, self-abnegation and aggressively bitter confrontation.
