Woody Allen gets back to comedy with "To Rome With Love", while still managing to take a few jabs at modern morality and the "Famous For Being Famous" celebrity of folks like Snookii or the Kardashians. I especially like Alec Baldwin as the famous architect who revisits his youth, the "nobody" middle-class worker bee who becomes a celebrity ("flavor of the week") , and especially the mortician-turned-Caruso who cannot sing unless he is in the shower. Overall, I found this movie to be a witty, insightful look at modern life, with the beautiful eternal city of Rome as an always present co-star. Go see it - you'll laugh out loud often.

I don't get all of this lesser Allen crap. This was a wonderful and enchanting film. There is solid acting and wit that is supplementary to his previous "greater" works. While some complain about the supposed haphazardness of the film, I felt it flowed very well. Real life does not gradually move like the typical movie, and when you keep this in mind the "haphazardness" is normal especially when you compare the lives of different people. Overall this is a greater Allen work.

Frivolous, schematic, and overlong, Allen's valentine to the Eternal City is one of the weakest entries in his European film tour.
