An inspiring message about finding the strength to follow your passion and leaving behind toxic influences. I especially loved the scenes where Kalindra is reciting her work.

Had the pleasure of seeing this movie when it was first released and walked away looking for the first person that I could tell to go see this movie. Aside from the great cast that was assembled, it was nice to hear and see spoken word on the big screen. The director tackled real issues that can be a part of any relationship, no matter the racial makeup. Everyone knows someone that is dealing with or had to deal with domestic abuse. Things Never Said gives both a voice to the victims that suffer silently, and hope to those seeking to escape their circumstance. While it has flashes of anger throughout the movie, the message is not delivered in a heavy handed manner. If you haven't seen it, go!

Moving story that portrayed Spoken Word beautifully. The chemistry between that actors carried the film. I really enjoyed it!

Things Never Said is the type of film we need more of in this day and age. It's storytelling at it's finest backed by solid performances from an eclectic cast. There is a humanity to it that is lacking in the present time of monsters, robots, and CGI filled movies that pack of theaters. Human emotion shown through good old fashioned storytelling. If you like real films about real life you will love TNS.

Things Never Said is a truly excellent film. I know some critic's first reaction is to compare it to Love Jones, but there's room for both films the same way my Blu Collection fits The Godfather and Goodfellas just fine. This is one of the FEW MUST SEE FILMS OF THE YEAR. The film is written and directed with a poise, wit, and sensitivity that is rare, yet never shies away from letting its main characters be human, flaws and all, for better and for worse. Shanola Hampton and Omari Hardwick are great, but Elimu Nelson has a true breakout performance as the abusive husband.
