Even though They Look Like People was produced on a low budget, this movie makes my list of top ten best. No gore, cute and simple moral, good acting, and sad situations of life for both of the main characters featured. Don't watch if you're looking for someone to get eaten alive (in that case watch Split), but please do watch if you're looking for a high quality story and film. I highly recommend seeing it, you can find it on Netflix.

It's nicely done in the character development, however it falls short for me in thrilling or exciting to keep the pace going. The story is interesting and you winder if it's really happening or something else is going on. But like I said, sometimes the development goes too long and makes the movie slow to almost a halt, sure it's fun in moments but then it feels like it should of picked up a better pace about an hour in. not a bad watch but nothing to hunt for.

An effective and unsettling neuro-psychological thriller, They Look Like People creates a creepily mundane sense of dread in its depictions of a schizophrenic's paranoid delusions.

They Look Like People doesn't step into any taboo territory regarding schizophrenia, short of using it as a plot device, and is ultimately slow and unsatisfying.

They Look Like People is a great thriller. The director moves the plot quickly with exceptionally well thought-out shots. For example, one of the first scenes of the movie depicts Christian working out, to googling "How to ask out your boss", to a shot of him sitting at a table across from a woman, to him smiling while riding the subway, all with no dialogue. Brilliant use of screen time such as this moves the plot refreshingly quickly as we delve into Wyatt's illness and his truly enjoyable relationship with his friend Christian. As the movie continues there are a few scenes and plot holes that stretch audience members' suspension of disbelief (why wouldn't Mara seek some sort of help after her episode with Wyatt, and how does she manage to blame Christian for Wyatt's behavior?), but thankfully, these are few and far between. For the rest of the movie, the shifting plot and impending doom ensconce viewers in a shroud of perfectly paced suspence.
