Good movie and for it's time hot stuff.

This melodrama from the 50's is a great showcase for some of the actors including paul newman and robert vaughn. The story is real engaging and what these characters goes through is a bit soap opera-ish but you can't help but watch.

A great soap opera love story, starring Paul Newman as the young lawyer trying to make good, with Barbara Rush as his love interest. Robert Vaughn gives a memorable hammy performance as the troubled friend. With Diane Brewster, Brian Keith, Alexis Smith, John Williams, Billie Burke and Richard Deacon. Good courtroom scene at the end with a plot twist; an inspiring, entertaining and compelling story.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. Great performances from all, especially a young Paul Newman. Newman's character, Anthony Lawrence, comes from a middle class background and wants to play in the "Big Leagues" of Philadelphia's elite class. Along the way, he decides to do "whatever it takes" to make it there. But, when faced with a dilemma to do "what it takes" to win a high-profile case that could destroy his best friend and bring down his family, he decides to........
