The Young Messiah pulls off a minor miracle. It connects the challenges parents face with what Joseph and Mary experienced.

Loved this movie! Though not Biblically accurate, thoroughly believable. Moving performances by all, including the young man. Ann Rice story, beautifully directed, excellent musical score, cinematography.

Did it make me feel good? Yes. I thought it was just a nice, light hearted, simple movie. I know Americans get bored rather fast these days, and the attention span is low, but if one is willing to chill out and just enjoy the simple, then the movie will work.

This is based on the novel by Anne Rice and not an exact retelling from the scriptures. I found this movie to be interesting, but it occasionally lacked focus in its pacing. I think this movie is worth watching if you are a Christian (or are at least curious about it) but it is not overly memorable. I did enjoy it for what it was though.
