The Walker (2007)

Carter Page III, a middle-aged gay man in Washington, D. C., is a "walker", a single man who escorts other men's wives to social events so the husbands do not have to. One of the women he escorts, Lynn Lockner, is the wife of a United States senator and is carrying on an affair with a lobbyist. When she finds the lobbyist murdered, she embroils Carter in an investigation that leads to the highest levels of the federal government.

Fantastic saw the premiere at the Berlinale 2 years ago, loved it!

This is a good film with a very good central performance from Woody Harrelson but some of the technicals are very questionable and out of place, including zooms, slo-mo's, camera tilts.

A movie that moved with its own pace, own sensibility and its own charm. Charming performances from Woody Harrelson and Lauren Bacall. Excellent work from Paul Schrader.

Overlooked Schrader movie right here. Woody Harrelson as you've never seen him before or since. Fascinating character drama.

Kirk Honeycutt 10 Dec 2007

While it can be labeled a thriller or a murder mystery, the film is talky, unhurried, contains little action and shows more interest in how characters think and behave than in its plot.
