Carter Page III, a middle-aged gay man in Washington, D. C., is a "walker", a single man who escorts other men's wives to social events so the husbands do not have to. One of the women he escorts, Lynn Lockner, is the wife of a United States senator and is carrying on an affair with a lobbyist. When she finds the lobbyist murdered, she embroils Carter in an investigation that leads to the highest levels of the federal government.

Absorbing drama in which Woody Harrelson shines as the gay male escort of bored Washington wives; a character who is cheerfully and proudly superficial until a murder forces him to confront powerful people who are more deeply cynical than he could ever be. The film paints a damning but depressingly plausible picture of contemporary Washington culture... and can one character?s striking resemblance to Dick Cheney be entirely coincidental?

a very impressive cast lineup but the whole reason behind the film and the crime and ensuing drama seemed to be so trivial that i wasn't really sure whether i had just totally missed the plot... with the focus on the group of wealthy and probably bored socialites taking centre stage, maybe the whole idea behind the missing the point was actually deliberate because to these people who just wine, dine, gossip and play bridge all day, making mountains out of molehills is probably a welcome break for them

Woody Harrelson made a great performance as actor like usual. The tempo of the film is maybe to quiet.

Saw this in the Sydney Film Festival this year. Quite enjoy it. I like the dark humour and also the fine line between who's a good and who's a bad person despite what the exterior or society tells us sometimes.
