While this offers up the odd laugh, the continual banter grows tedious and wearying, and the whole affair seems pointless.

There are more laughs per minute in this film that any studio comedy you'll see this year. The chemistry and ability Coogan and Brydon have for playing off of each other is remarkable. Winterbottom has collaborated with these two actors before and it is evident in the trust and free reign they have on camera. Coogan's ability to show his insecurities by constantly berating Brydon's strengths as a comedic talent is where this film really gets to shine yet also shows there is a real friendship to be had underneath it all.

This ran on the BBC as a series and highlights the underrated talents of Coogan (known here in the US) and the relatively unknown, but equally brilliant, Rob Brydon. The interplay between the two is dry and excellent.

Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are brilliantly funny in this movie. I plan to see it again sometime, as so many little witticisms just whiz by. And I want to watch it again to enjoy the nuances of their dueling celebrity impressions (such as ALL the various James Bonds.) I'd like to watch the entire BBC series from which this was culled, but so far I haven't found an American edition of the TV series.
