Just an average movie at that. Didnt seem to have much of a flow to it. Decent acting but the characters were hard to follow at that. One thing i did like was seeing a side to World War I that i havent seen before. Kinda drags on but worth watching if you got some free time.

All in all it's a good film. Nothing really ground breaking or life changing, just a decent enough, well put together independent film.

Depicts the life of an average British 'Tommy' in extraordinary circumstance. The historic events leading up to the first and bloodiest day of the Somme (60,000 British casualties). Could have worked just as effectively as a stage production because all of the action is confined within the compounds of a battle trench. Minute details have been placed here, such as soldiers reading from pocket prayer (or poetry) books or looking at seedy postcards (or loved ones). The last momments are incredibly tense with the platoon just being left alone with their final thoughts. The 1st of July, 1916 will never be forgotten. R.I.P.
