Other than the overly dramatized transitions between her alters and the contrived ending, it was really good

Woodward is the reason to see this. the factual presentation rather than a dramatized account slows it down. the best story element is deconstructing why she developed the personalities and that's done so well similar to a hitchcock or fritz lang climax.

Joanne Woodward plays a quiet Georgian housewife who happens to have two very loud personalities yearning to be released. Woodward won the academy award for her role as Eve White, Eve Black, and Jane, and needless to say, it was an award well earned. Recommend to anyone who enjoys intense psychological dramas.

One of the best all time movies...saw when I was younger....but got it in DVD at library withing past several months and watched again. Now, appreciate it even more.
