The forgotten sequel to Ringu. Pretty good, but much different in tone.

this movie will either blow your mind or confuse the hell out of you,by the end you get a sense that life and death are all but an illusion and reality is not always what it seems, this movie has gotten a bad wrap over the years but for those who actually get what its putting across will see its the perfect bridge between ringu and ringu 2.

Probably one of the most disappointing sequels I have ever seen. It not only has multiple continuity errors between this and the first movie, but it also doesn't make any sense. A DNA virus that passes through videos and books? and allows ghosts to be reborn? Oh brother. I am so disappointed.

A Ringu sequel that trades scares for explanations. Creative and well thought out, but feels as though everything was written around the theme. Just be warned: It's nothing like Ringu/The Ring/The Ring Virus.

A depressed pathologist, links the death of his former medical school friend with a videotape given to him by a reporter. Rasen takes a complete turn of events in its plot and introduces new elements to the film. I believe the route Rasen took was ludicrous and made the film out to be more of a thriller than any. The dramatic approach coupled with its sensual overtones was a bad move on George IIda. It made the spirit out to be some girl on a fatal attraction trip. It was great to have the film intertwined with the last and include the same characters, but changing the feel of the film was a mistake on IIda. There was no horror, only a film about evolution and its pretentious realisation for the future of the world. A completely different film that had nothing to do with the first one.
