Interwoven with subplots centered on the other members of the shop's little family, the romance proceeds through Lubitsch's brilliant deployment of point of view, allowing the audience to enter the perceptions of each individual character at exactly the right moment to develop maximum sympathy and suspense.

I loved this movie. It is a classic love story and I love Jimmy Stewart movies.

One of the all-time most romantic films ever, directed by the great Ernst Lubitsch. If you've heard that You've Got Mail was based on this and it put you off, then please give it a try. This, the original story, is far more subtle and an infinitely superior version. Highly recommended.

Skip You've Got Mail, and rent this wonderful movie---you've got to be dead not to enjoy it. Fine for the whole family. Stewart and Sullavan are simply superb. Christmas is a perfect time to see it.
