Very good. Had the flavor of old series, but with added flare. Fun to watch.. Would love to see another

Predictable, Corney, cheap production values, with bad acting, and a terrible script. This makes the Val Kilmer Saint look like Oscar material. The cast is actually promising here at the execution is terrible.

The Saint has seen several incarnations over the years, among other things a radio show in the 40s and the TV show in the 60s with Roger Moore. The major problem with this version, is that it feel very 1990s. That may have been quite ok, you know, in the 1990s, but here it the formula feels very formulaic. This is too bad, because at times it really is quite entertaining. Weren't you supposed to have a higher academic degree to join the FBI? Apparently the screen writers didn't really consider that. Anyway, The Saint as such is a very interesting setup, but that ultimately fails to deliver the real goods due to the bad scripts. Production and acting is ok I guess. I am still waiting for the iteration of The Saint, perhaps in a decade or so. Sigh.

With dialogue that would have creaked in the Seventies, wooden performances, and painting by numbers action sequences tamer than The Rockford Files, this appalling mess deserved to go no further than a pilot for a series never picked up. The true crime is that it was extended into a feature film and dumped on Netflix. Avoid.
