The Safety of Objects (2002)

In a suburban landscape, the lives of several families interlace with loss, despair and personal crisis. Esther Gold has lost focus on all but caring for her comatose son, Paul, and neglects her daughter and husband. Lawyer Jim Train is devoted to his career, not his family. Helen Christianson wants to find a new spark in life, while Annette Jennings tries to rebuild hers.

This was ok, but I liked AM Homes so much, that I am hard to please when looking at anything adapted from her writings

A vivid tableau that shows us the simplicity and quiet beauty of suburbia.

A tamed down "Magnolia" (Paul Thomas Anderson, 1999), this movie lost me many times.

...there's a lot worth recommending about the film.

I must say I originally saw this because of Kristen Stewart. But I have to say that I actually enjoyed the film and all the other stories. Some weird movies go over my head, but this one I really liked.
