A decent Lovecraft tale brought to life by Chris Sarandon's dual performance. Fun and interesting, even if the practical special effects were horrible. The problem with Lovecraft stories are the monsters are always so much better written then seen. Definitely worth a watch.

A particularly solid Lovecraft film that treats the material far more like the author did himself than someone like Stuart Gordon (love his work, but he does get uber-sleazy). O'Bannon shows still he's a far better writer than director, but he did some amazing touches with this film that is another great example of early-90s B-movie coolness. Unpretentious, great effects, Chris Sarandon as a psychomaniac, mad scientist work, and a gothic atmosphere transposed to modern times. Good times for those who dig Lovecraft stories and hate that there's still not enough good adaptations of his work. It ain't perfect, but it sure as hell beats the usual crap named after his masterpieces.

Dan O'Bannon's 'lost' film. Based on HP Lovecraft's 'Charles Dexter Ward'. O'Bannon's version of this film was overhauled by the studio while he was dealing with a devastating illness. The results were mixed, and the film went straight to home video. The optical effex are laughable, the same way Hellraiser's are. But the practical effects are an A+, with some of the scariest creatures I've seen in any film! Also called 'Shatterbrain'. RIP Dan. Just fyi, Scream Factory is releasing The Resurrected on Region A blu-ray on Sept. 12, 2017. There is a German region B blu-ray release already available.

Con muy poco presupuesto consigue, sin embargo, atmosferas escalofriantes y unos monstruos muy bien urdidos, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que no es una pelicula de las hechas en la llamada era de la tecnologia... Tanto si gusta Lovecraft como sino es escalofriante y recomendable.
