Excellent cast and storyline. It was focused on a love story in the backdrop of the Armenian Genocide! Saying I liked it not as an Armenian but an avid movie buff, I truly enjoyed the film itself. It was very difficult to watch some of the scenes knowing those people went through that back in 1915. I'm not into documentaries and so I'm glad it had an alternate story line as well!

Outstanding performances by Oscar Issacs, Charlotte Le Bon and Christian Bale. The movie is a must see for anyone who cares about human rights and holding governments accountable for their actions. Beautiful story about love, commitment and survival. Don't miss seeing this in the theater.

As a great granddaughter of a survivor of the Amenian Genocide I can say not only is this film true to historical facts, but it is relevant to what is occurring in the same region today. My great grandmother escaped from the death marches in the desert of Der El Zor in Syria. The fact that there has been a systematic denial campaign for the last 100 years is why most people haven't heard of the first genocide of the 20th century, and that is why this film is important and people should see it.

This is a magnificent, beautifully filmed, and sensitive portrayal of the events leading to the horrific near extermination of the Armenian people by an ultra nationalistic Turkish movement under the umbrella of the 1st world war. It truly articulates the all to familiar steps taken (later in the century toward the (European Jews) to degrade and humiliate an entire race. The acting is poignant and the cinematography is stunning. It's a MUST SEE!
