Great movie. Nice break from the crappy remakes that are coming out now. Might just read the book!

larry and i both enjoyed this film. Ben Kingsley was amazing as the Master Physician. the film in made in the early 1800's when witchcraft was thr answer to anyone who would cure others. but young Rob Cole decides to make himself Jewish to be able to travel to Precia were he learns from the Master. lots of drama. very well written.

Für eine deutsche Produktion hat mich der Film wirklich beeindruckt. Es ist toll, dass wir ein solch magisches Kinoerlebnis erschaffen können. Über 150 Minuten wird ein großer Abenteuerfilm erzählt, der zu keiner Sekunde langweilig wird. Unbedingt im Kino ansehen!

Excellent film! Went with the family including 81 year old mother and young 12 year old nephew. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Surgery scenes are minimal and discretely handled so no need to worry about any gore, etc. Story is fantastic as was acting. Highly recommended!
